Michael Moeller is the head of the newly established group for visual scene analysis at the University of Siegen since September 2016. He obtained his doctoral degree in 2012 from the University of Münster under the mentorship of Prof. Martin Burger in close collaboration with the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he spent two years as a visiting researcher. After his Ph.D. he worked at the Arnold and Richter Cinetechnik (ARRI) before joining the computer vision group of Prof. Daniel Cremers at the Technical University of Munich as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Michael's main research interests include convex optimization, variational methods, compressed sensing, and multiscale methods - particularly Bregman iteration and inverse scale space flows - with applications in image processing and computer vision.
